Killer Swimsuit Ideas For Your Body Type

This summer is all about chilling on the beach and vacationing! Before you hit the beach, choose the right swimwear to enhance your best features.  I’ve learned, through my own experience, about how important it is to feel comfortable and secure in what you are wearing to the beach. Today, I am sharing some tips on what’s the right swimsuit for your body type.

Busty

Women with large busts expressed some concerns about finding pieces that can support their chest. My suggestion was to consider mixing your pieces. This gives you a variety of ways to diversify your swimsuit looks for the summer. The best part you could buy one dark bottom and dress it up with different tops!  Focus on pieces that have a full-underwire cup and straps that will help you in your look for the right swimsuit!

Take a peek at what I picked for your body shape.

Pear

A pear shape can work with two-piece swimsuits, strapless swimsuits, and prints. Choosing a piece that falls on your hip or below your hip will help cover them if that is your concern. If that isn’t what you want, look for something with a print or center cut out to create a curvier shape. If you choose to go with a bikini and want to add more volume to your bust, go for a one with a push-up feature.

See what strapless swimsuits I chose.

Inverted Triangle

Focus on pieces that suit your skin color have a flattering and small pattern on it and accentuate your shoulders. Using pieces with small print balances your shape by distracting the eye all over your body. Swimsuits that accentuate your shoulder create the illusion of a shapelier figure. Ruffles, bows, and loud prints on your bottoms will add width to your hips.

Ruffle your swimsuit feathers with these ideas.

Rectangle

You want to focus on two pieces and pieces that have a plunging neckline. Two pieces create a curvier shape, and a plunging neckline draws the eye to your bust and hips creating more form for your figure.

The Best Dresses For Your Body Type

This post is all about knowing what type of dress accentuates the good parts of your body shape. I believe a woman can look her best in a dress that flatters her shape. If you don’t know what your body shape is, check out Know Your Body Shape to learn more about your figure.

Banana

Wearing an empire waist dress or A-line skirt creates curves for your figure.

Pear

For pear shapes, it is all about working the eye and emphasizing the smallest part of your waist, creating balance to your shape. Look for open neck pieces, empire waist, or strapless tops.

Hourglass

Wrap dresses or knit dresses are flattering for this figure. Dresses with fitted waists enhance your shape.

Apple

Search for styles that draw the eye up to your shape. A-line and full skirts create an hourglass appearance, while empire waist dresses make the eye look up, drawing attention away from your middle.

Top 5 SPF Moisturizers Under $20

The summer can be harsh on your skin due to  UV rays emitting from the sun. Trust me, walking around with unprotected skin in the summer will lead to skin sensitivity, skin peeling, and skin discomfort throughout the day.

Here are my top 5 moisturizers for this summer. You may not have time to go shopping for the regimen, but your skin will thank you this winter for taking the time to slap some SPF on it!

1. L’Oreal Paris Skin Expertise Futur-e Moisturizer, SPF 15, $9.59

Great for soothing hydration to your skin.

2. Olay Complete Defense Daily UV Moisturizer, SPF 30, $13.99

Good for oily/combination skin. Depending on skin type, it may be greasy for some and not for others.

3. Aveeno Ultra-Calming Daily Moisturizer, SPF 15, $13.75

Perfect for sensitive skin. It is proven to cut redness and soothe skin irritation.

4. Neutrogena Healing Defense Daily Moisturizer, SPF 50, $15.99

Feels lightweight and doesn’t leave a white cast on your skin from the SPF.

5. Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer, SPF 20, $13.79

This product is long-lasting, absorbs into your skin, and leaves a non-greasy feeling.

White, Dress It Down

White is one the of the best colors to have in your wardrobe. You can dress it up, and you can dress it down depending on the article of clothing you pair with it. Today, I am focusing on a white pant and how I dress it up.

All White Everything

Going out to lunch? A neutral color palette will be striking and mesmerizing when you pair white with khaki. I added my favorite ankle strap sandal and trench coat for an advanced touch.

Perfect Color Combination

Break up the black and grey color combination with a pop of white. I paired my white pant with a grey cable knit sweater and a classic black pump. This look is perfect for an office look.

Classic Blue

I am in love with classic blue! I found this Ralph Lauren sweater from my local thrift store, and it pairs well with many items in my closet. However, it pops with the white pants!

Located in Hayward, CA, Dolld.Kouture has some cute items! I found them on Instagram and I was captivated by their choices. With tasteful and clean-looking pieces, I couldn’t stop “liking” the pictures they would post. Luckily enough, I was able to get my hands on this electric blue two piece. I styled it with a few pieces from my closet to show what you could do with a two-piece when you feel like mixing things up.

Dolld.Kouture Electric Blue Two Piece

I wanted to make this look sophisticated, so I threw on my London Fog trench coat. Not to mention, it is freezing on the East Coast, so I had to stay warm.

I am all about bright colors, but I wasn’t sure if another rich color would work.

I am so glad that I pulled these fuchsia colored pants from my closet! I think it just fits and it has a great color balance!

As much as I love to look more feminine, I am more of a tomboy. So, I put on my DIY distressed jeans with the top.

Coat: Bromley Pant: Gloria Vanderbilt (DIY Distressed cuts)

I think it gives me an edge. What do you think?

Overall, Dolld.Kouture has great customer service, a response time, and fashion sense! Check them out on:

10 Makeup Must-Haves For Women On The Go

As a woman-on-the-go, it is hard to know what to keep in your makeup bag, and that’s assuming you care about wearing makeup in at all. For the past month, I have interviewed women, in a variety of career fields, about makeup must-haves. I have compiled a list of ten makeup must-haves every woman should own.

1. Face Powder

Fashion Fair Pressed Powder

Using face powders leaves a light to medium coverage and even out your skin. You can apply it using a sponge, brush, or powder puff.

2. Concealer

Tarte Maracuja Creaseless Concealer

Concealer is used to cover up blemishes, dark circles, and age spots. It brightens up dark spots and evens out skin tone. You can apply it with a brush or sponge.

3. Eye Shadow

The Nudes Wear Eyeshadow Palette by Maybelline

Add a little definition to your eye shape with eyeshadow. Eyeshadow is used to enhance the shape and color of your eyes.

4. Eyeliner

Cynthia Rowley Black Liquid Liner

Eyeliner is used to define your eye shape making it seem bigger or smaller.

5.  Mascara

Stila Huge Extreme Lash Mascara

Mascara emphasizes your eyes by making your lashes seem longer and thicker.

6. Lips Stains

Lorac Alter Ego Hydrating Lip Stain

Lip stains are made to enhance the natural hue of a lip. They are long-lasting and smudge-proof.

7. Lip Balm

Benefit Hydrating Tinted Lip Balm

For the women who aren’t into lip colors, a lip balm does the job. They soothe and moisturize your lips while giving you a subtle sheen.

8.  Blush

black Up Cosmetics Intense Blush

Using a blush is perfect for a beautiful flush of color.

9. Bronzer

Becca Gradient Sunlit Bronzer

If you are not into blush, try using bronzer. It adds warmth to your skin, leaving you with a natural contour line.

10. Blotting Papers

Swisspers Blotting Paper Sheets

I don’t believe in adding more powder to your skin to cover up the shine. Instead, I reach for blotting papers when to control my shine during the day. It absorbs oil and doesn’t cause “cake face”.

Keep in mind that, if you are thinking about using makeup, you do not have to buy everything on the list. Take it one product at a time until you are comfortable with wearing makeup every once in a while.

Review | Younique Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lash

I was sent a duo mascara kit called, Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lashes, by a Younique distributor. Honestly, I didn’t use it as soon as I got it. Before trying it, I read other reviews and learned about the company. I have to say that this product is worth the hype.

My Right Eye | With mascara My Left Eye | Without mascara

I decided to compare Moodstruck to the other leading brands I have, and Moodstruck is true to its word. The transplanting gel coats and separates the lashes allowing the natural fibers to stick to the gel and create full lashes. You can follow the directions given, but I have also used just the transplanting gel alone. It almost gives me the same effect of using both the transplanting gel and fibers. I have tried it on other people and they love the product as well!

Check out my quick video review:

Yonique 3D Fiber Mascara

Overall, this product is worth the price. Let me know what you think of the product when you try it!

Product Facts

– The natural fibers are taken from the Campanulaceae of green tea.

– You can control the thickness of lashes depending on how many times you apply

– Easy to follow instructions
– Doesn’t flake or shed during the day

Skincare 102: Affordable Cleansers for Your Skin Type

At the age of 6, I was introduced to skincare by my mother, as she would always apply Pond’s Cold Cream (which you see listed for three of the skin types — because it is that good!) to her face to remove her makeup. After that, at the age of 15, a family member of mine took me to a Clinique counter and let me have my first full facial by the associate there. I was so amazed and took in as much information as I could. Since then, I have become interested in proper skin care and how to treat different skin types.  I have learned and trying products for myself, so, I am sharing some of my favorite products that should work on a few different skin types.
